Obituary of James Orville Sempsrott
SEMPSROTT, James Orville"Jim" age 87 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Otterbein Retirement Community surrounded by his loving family. born June 3, 1928 in Sycamore Township, Jim was the son of Charles and Helen Elizabeth (Jones) Sempsrott and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jim wore many hats throughout his lifetime and was known for his willingness to always lend a helping hand, he sang in a gospel quartet, rehabbing and building houses, former owner at the former J & H Floors in Lebanon, real estate sales for Century 21 Realty, Jim's Used Furniture that he and his late wife Geraldine ran together and lastly for making the best peanut butter fudge ever. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Geraldine Sempsrott in 2015, son Larry Sempsrott, brothers William, Albert, John and Edward Sempsrott and sisters Naomi, Hilda, Christine, Ethel and Mary; Jim leaves behind his loving children Jeff (Jamie) Sempsrott of Dayton, Ohio, Beverly (Steve) Taylor of Lebanon, Ohio, Cathy (Tracy) Stephens of Lebanon, Ohio and Karen Sempsrott of Loveland, Ohio; brothers Robert Sempsrott of Indiana, Herbert Sempsrott of Lebanon, Ohio and Walter Sempsrott of North Carolina; sister Donna Picot of Monroe, Ohio, grandchildren Ian, Alex, Kelli and Kerri and great-grandchildren Jodi, JR and Olivia and many other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11am at the First Church of God located on Franklin Road in Lebanon, Ohio with Pastor Ray Storer officiating.
