I am so sorry to hear about Pam's passing. She cut my hair for years and even styled my hair for my wedding. She was a wonderful woman. Please accept my condolences.

Pam was my closest female friend in high school especially my junior and senior years. Her brother John was also a great friend and one of the long hairs who protected kids like me, young scrawny hippies who were getting bullied from redneck, jocular athletes at the time. Pam and I really loved each other as kindred spirits. Our friendship was a break from any romances we might have had at the time. Who would want to mess up such a great relationship by getting romantically involved? We just had so much fun together, sitting in the last row of Spanish class or anywhere we found ourselves. Pammie was so sweet, beautiful, happy, and laughed at all my silly thoughts, habits and quirks and never judged me.
I left Finneytown after graduation and lived overseas for almost a year and lost touch. When I did finally return to Cinti for college we would talk occasionally, since leaving in 1982, we have only seen or talked to each other a couple times, but I have always felt very close and loved her like a brother would.
About a week before she passed, she called me out of the blue,I think she saw a Facebook post or something from me. We talked about her retirement from the Fire Dept. ,how lucky we both were to have survived this long, how she loved going to crossfit and how she was doing so well and looking forward to a whole new chapter in life. We talked for a long time about family, friends and how we were going to see each other this year.
I realize now that this was probably her good bye to me. I was in shock and still don't know what happened, but I just feel she knew her time had come.
She will always be a light in my life, she taught me how a woman can be a best friend without being physical and shared a whole new perspective how one can appreciate life. I love you Pam,your life was and is a blessing.
