Challis,even though you body and mind were in disarray from a disease you could not control,your heart was always in the right place.When I first seen you after you left for Heaven, I seen a peace,a body that was free of disease and pain.You used to be a doer til you got sick and then you became a dreamer. Challis, Wednesday the 12th was one of the saddest days that I ever had to go through. It was very sad to see you go so soon as you should have lived a much longer life. I have so many fond memories of you and I will never forget. To me, you will always be a modern day outlaw who never looked for trouble but was never afraid to end it. Challis always marched to the tune of his own drummer and that is why I believe he was so unique. Just like his name. I am fond of the memories that I had with him, especially when we fished with my dad and brothers. He enjoyed fishing and would always let us know when he caught more fish than us! Challis always had an open heart and open arms for me and made me feel like a true sister. His life was too short and he will be missed greatly. He was such a good uncle to Jennifer and Will. My favorite memories of Challis have a setting in the picturesque hills of Appalachia. First cousins, we raced and wrestled on the soft grass of our Mamaw Warren's yard, took adventurous journeys over powder-fine dirt roads, baptized each other (and caught crawdads) in nearby streams. We broke rules (as well as his arm) by exploring and falling out of the family barn's loft. He had Tom Sawyer-like qualities and I was proud to call him kin.
