Obituary of Elvira Johnson

JOHNSON, Elvira Ann (nee Terry) age 96 of Lebanon, Ohio died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Avalon of Otterbein in Maineville, Ohio. Born February 9, 1918 to William and Elizabeth (Herald) Terry, Elvira attended school in Breathitt County Kentucky. She loved her yard work and her beautiful flowers. She embroidered and crocheted and loved her crossword puzzles. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of South Lebanon and after her health failed, she could no longer attend. She was a hard-working mother who worked out of the home for many years before retiring. Elvira was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eldridge Nolan Johnson in 1977, son Leonard Homer Johnson, son-in-law Ray Powell, brothers Robert, Leonard and Brack Terry and sister Louise Turner. She is survived by her children Abe (Shirley) Johnson of Oxford, Ohio, Joe (Sue) Johnson of South Lebanon, Ohio, Donald (special friend Belinda Plessinger) of Morrow, Ohio, Doug Johnson of Lebanon, Ohio and Faye Powell of Maineville, Ohio; daughter-in-law Evelyn Johnson and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of South Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at the church at 2:00pm with Pastor David Frasure, Brother Larry Brandenburg and Brother Arthur McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
