Rest in peace sweet Kentucky Mother and Grandmother. I know you have touched many lives teaching for 46 years in the classroom. May you find eternal peace and rest with the Lord. God bless your family.

Mrs. Burns was my 2nd grade school teacher at Louisa Wright in 1965. Memories of Mrs. Burns that I have is she taught me to write in cursive and win spelling Bees. She use to read Mark Twain books, Huck Finn and Old Yellow, to us in class. She was such a great reader. I loved listening to her. And the women had a memory. I could not believe she remembered me when I last spoke to her 2012. When I asked if she remembered me she said, "A little blonde". I guess that could have been anyone but, I knew she remembered me as well as I remembered her. Thanks so much Mrs. Burns for making my younger learning years an adventure.

So sad to hear of her passing. She was one of my favorite elementary school teachers and I've often thought how special it would be to reconnect with some like her now that 27 years have gone by. She probably wouldn't remember me with all the students she taught but I'll anyways remember her. She always told me I had a beautiful name :) but more importantly I remember her believing in me and saying I could do anything. Thank you Mrs. Burns. You'll always be remembered.

Juanita's backyard connected to my childhood home's backyard. I loved going to her house. She was a teacher, that of which I only dreamed of becoming! I remember her grading papers at the table while cooking dinner for the kids. I remember hours playing with Joey. All those hours in that home will always be held special in my heart. I grew up to be a teacher…a second grade teacher in Lebanon, just like Juanita! Thanks lady, for great memories! You lead a wonderful life that your children and grandchildren can hold dear!

My sincere condolences to the Burns family. Mrs. Burns was my second grade teacher @ 1970 and she is etched in my memory of one of the best teachers I had. She taught me how to write in cursive among so many other lessons.

Keeping you all in my prayers. Juanita was a very special person and teacher. I will always remember her and appreciate her contributions to the staff and children at Louisa Wright. It was a privilege to teach 2nd grade with her for so many years. God Bless, Kristie
