Obituary of Doris Stephens

STEPHENS, Doris Jean (nee Bertram) age 77 of Oregonia, Ohio died November 28, 2011. She was born September 22, 1934 in Yamacraw, Kentucky the daughter of a coal miner and she cherished gathering with her family, spending time in the outdoors and was a lifelong member of Urbancrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son John Richard, parents Procter and Effie Bertram, sister Adeline (Bob) Singleton and brother Harold (Betty) Bertram. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John of Oregonia, Ohio; children Kim Woods of Oregonia, Ohio, Terry Merrick of Oregonia, Ohio, Cindy (Dusty) Fairfield of Ravonna, Michigan, Stuart Stephens of Oregonia, Ohio and Kristy (Mike) Johnson of Oregonia, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and countless numbers of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Friends may call on the family Friday evening, December 2, 2011 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00pm. Burial will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00pm in the Pine Knot Cemetery, McCreary County, Kentucky.
