Obituary of Robert Lee Allen
Colonel (Ret.) Robert L. Allen of Loveland, Ohio, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on December 24, 2019. Robert was born May 07, 1932 in Miamisburg, Ohio to Willard and Rose (nee: Dunn) Allen. After graduating from Springboro High School he worked for Frigidaire (which later became GM) in Dayton before joining the U.S. Army Reserves. His assignments included a tour in Japan and in Korea. In 1970, Robert transferred to the National Guard, and served as the Commanding Officer of the National Guard Unit in Lebanon. After 34 years dedication to GM Moraine Motor plant and service to his country in uniform, Robert fully and happily retired from both. Robert was a devout member of the Masonic Temple and VFW. Robert is survived by his sister, Pat Culwell, of Santa Maria, California, daughter Alesia L. Allen of West Chester, Ohio, son Charles "Rob" Allen of Loveland, Ohio, daughter-in-law Kim (nee: McDonald) Allen of Loveland, Ohio, and grandson Jack McDonald. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Carlene Dawn (nee: Brown) Allen, and beloved second wife Barbara (nee: Muenchen) Allen.
A private burial service for immediate family will be held at Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Ohio with full honors. A memorial service for relatives and friends is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
