Bob was a fine person and a good friend and neighbor. I last visited him on Dec 7th, 2019, the day before I headed to Florida. Bob thanked me for being a good friend and said that he knew that he was not going to live long. I will miss him very much. Larry Stevens

In the past few years, my Uncle Bob and I--although living far apart--talked on the phone a few times a year to tell old stories, and laugh about lots of them. I'll miss those calls. He made time to tell me about our family's history and parts of his own life that I'd never known. Then, he'd send me a letter now and then to tell me more. He lived a full and interesting life, and I deeply appreciate all of the time that he made for me--especially the motorcycle-riding days on the farm that he and my Aunt Dawn loved, just outside of Lebanon. I don't recall quite as fondly helping him paint a rustic fence there, because the more that you painted that fence the more a bark-like part of it fell off, leaving more patches to paint. When I asked Uncle Bob what to do, he just said, "Paint it some more." :-) That turned out to be some good advice--in a philosophical kind of way in particular--that I've used more than once since that day, probably close to half-a-century ago. Thanks for all of the great times, Uncle Bob! Rest peacefully, my dear friend. ~Mike May
