Obituary of Charles Byrd Powell

POWELL, Charles Byrd age 83 of Morrow, Ohio passed peacefully Friday morning, February 17, 2017 at Quaker Heights Nursing Care in Waynesville, Ohio. Born August 9, 1933 in Warren County, Ohio, Charles was the son of Miley and Helen (nee Gutherie) Powell and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Charles was known for being a hard worker as he retired from General Motors with 45 years of service and also farmed. Charles a member of the Dodds Pentecostal Church and enjoyed going to church, photography and tinkering with mechanics, Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Edna F. Powell in 2014, brother Eugene Powell and sisters Juanita Shearer, Betty Weber and Adriene Kersey; Charles leaves behind his loving daughters Sandy Powell of Lebanon, Ohio, Sherri (Michael) Ross of Mason, Ohio and Sue (Greg) Kisabeth of West Chester, Ohio; brother Ray (Atha) Powell of Waynesville, Ohio; sisters Mary Amburgy of Waynesville, Donna Hershner of Dayton, Ohio and Ann Thornburg of Del Rio, Texas; grandchildren Chad (Elisabeth) Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Lexis Arnold, Gabriella Bennett, Sydne Arnold and Kristin (Isaiah) Hurby. The family will receive friends Monday, February 20, 2017 from 11am until 1pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1pm with Dr. Michael Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
