Obituary of Margaret A. Phelps

PHELPS, Margaret A. (nee Helton) age 81 of peacefully passed away to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, early Friday morning, February 10, 2017. She was born and grew up near Corbin, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents William Aaron and Cora Mae (Engle) Helton, her husband of 44 years Leo John Phelps and brothers Chester (Vivian) Helton, Pat (Liza May) Helton, Esom (Mossie) Helton and Wesley Helton and sister Bessie Helton. She is survived by her sisters Anna (Jessie) McKeehan & Edith (Frank) Baker; children John (Annette) Phelps and Christine Neubauer all of Plymouth, Wisconsin; Kevin (Rosemary) Phelps of Butlerville, Ohio, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Port Washington, Wisconsin until she moved to Ohio where she eventually became a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of South Lebanon, Ohio. Margaret was a sweet country girl who liked the outdoors and loved children very much. She loved gardening and spending time with her family more than anything. She was a sacrificial person who was always willing to help those in need, She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and went to her new home in Heaven. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 11am until 12pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 12pm with Mike Curry officiating. Burial will follow in the Murdock Cemetery, Hamilton Township, Ohio.
