Obituary of Harlan Andrew Smith

SMITH, Harlan Andrew age 90 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Atrium Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born January 1, 1927 in Hamilton, Ohio, Harlan was the son of Adam G. and Mary Florence (nee Cochran) Smith and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Harlan served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a retired Superintendent with Lebanon City Schools and was recently inducted into the Lebanon City Schools Hall of Fame.. Harlan was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church and former member of the Lions and Elk Clubs in Lebanon. Following his retirement from the Lebanon City Schools, he was a judge with the Lebanon Raceway. Harlan enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Phyllis Smith in 2014; Harlan leaves behind his loving children Richard Dennis Smith of Lebanon, Ohio and Lynn (Frank) Marshall of Lebanon, Ohio; sister Janet and grandson Andrew Whitmeyer of Middletown, Ohio. Friends may call on the family Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 11am until 1pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1pm followed by burial in Turtlecreek Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio.
