Obituary of David B. Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, David B. age 91 of Lebanon,Ohio passed peacefully December 18, 2016 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio with his family by his side. Born June 24, 1925 in Skaneateles, New York, David was the son of Bernard and Margarite (nee Mercer) Armstrong. David was one of nine children: Marty, Jim, Donald, Sis, David, Edith, Sonny, Fran and Ruby. David attended Amanda Schools and graduated from Lemon-Monroe High School in 1943. He worked at Liberal's Market until he entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He was Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1946. He met and married Ruth Hoover in Rock Island, Illinois August 12, 1948. They moved back to Ohio in 1957 and began working at Armco Steel in Middletown and retired from Armco Steel in 1986 after 30 years of service. David helped found the Living Word Church in Middletown in 1978 and attended there until moving to the Praise and Worship Center in Lebanon, Ohio in 1999 where his son-in-law Randall Wheeler was Associate Pastor. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Ruth Hoover Armstrong; brothers Donald, Martin, James, Melvin and Frank and sisters Margarite and Edith; David leaves behind his loving children David (Karen) Armstrong and Susie (Randall) Wheeler; one sister Ruby; grandchildren Christi, Amy, Julie, David and Lori; thirteen grandchildren and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, December 26, 2016 from 5pm until 7pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7pm with Pastor Randall Wheeler officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 10am iin the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio.
