Obituary of Garnie Levi Peak

PEAK, Garnie Levi age 86 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Lebanon Country Manor. Born May 8, 1930 in Scott County, Virginia, Garnie was the son of Emmett and Lillie (Begley) Peak and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Garnie served his country proudly in the U.S. Army in Korea where he was wounded in battle. Garnie retired from the Aeronica Corporation in Middletown where he was a machinist. During his spare time, Garnie enjoyed playing the fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin - especially Bluegrass Gospel. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Alta in 2005, brothers Walter and Norman and sister Marie Lanie; Garnie leaves behind his loving children Richard (Deborah Ann) Peak of Springfield, Ohio and Wanda (Ernest Sutton) Peak of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers Lydia Palmer Peak of Camden, Ohio, Gene Peak of Zellwood, Florida and sister Dorothy Cottingin; grandchildren Tonya (Adam) Scott, Virgil (Vicky) Butler, Michael Newman and Leah (Rick) Tillman; great-grandchildren Zach, Alexis, Gavin and Carson Tillman, Zavier and Payton Newman, Madison and Tyler Butler, Samantha (Jonathan) Cooper,Savannah and Addison Scott; great-great grandchildren Kinley and Adilynn Cooper and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, October 30, 3016 from 3pm until 5pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday morning, October 31, 2016 art 11am with Pastor Robert Fisher officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio.
