Obituary of Judith Anderson

A memorial service celebrating Judy's life will be held on Monday, October 31, 11am at Lebanon Presbyterian Church 123 N. East St. Lebanon, Ohio 45036. A lunch reception will follow the service. Judy was born in Louisville, KY to Mary Atwood and William Keller. Mary later married Leonard Humphrey and Judy became Judith Humphrey. Judy grew up in Rockville, IN where she met Ron Anderson when he became the choir director at her church. They dated briefly before Ron was reassigned to an Air Force base in Canada. They were married on June 11, 1955. Ron and Judy raised four children while moving frequently as Ron was promoted to new roles by his employer. Their children are Catherine Luther (husband Jonathon) of Buffalo, NY; Scott Anderson (wife Carol) of Edmond, Ok; The Rev. John Anderson of Denver, CO; and Elizabeth Anderson of Cincinnati, OH. In midlife, Judy earned undergraduate and masters degrees in experimental psychology at the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Judy also completed the course work for a Ph.D. before another move prevented her from completing the clinical requirements for the degree. Judy became the Director of Olive Grove, a family adoption agency in Southern California. Judy and Ron shared a love of music. She was an accomplished pianist and also sang in the church choir and played bells at Sea Island Presbyterian Church for 15 years. They also shared a love for dogs, their most recent being a white standard poodle named Lulu. Judy's greatest passion was her Christian faith. She was a frequent speaker for Christian Women's Clubs and taught a neighborhood Bible study for over 20 years. Wherever she and Ron moved, Judy would find a community of women with whom she could study and share her faith. Judy has a sister and brother, Nancy Keller and Allen Keller. Judy and Ron have seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, the youngest was born less than a week before Judy's death. Gifts may be given in memory of Judy Anderson to the "Music Fund" at Sea Island Presbyterian Church PO Box 966, Beaufort, SC 29901
