Obituary of William Stavis

STAVIS, William "Bill" 89 years of age, was born on May 2, 1923 in Northumberland Co. VA. His life came to an end on May 11, 2012 at the Kindred nursing home in Lebanon, OH. He was preceded in death by his wives, Nannie (nee Porter), Jane (nee Bryant) and his son Mahlon Stavis. He is survived by his children Malcom (Connie) Stavis of Lebanon, OH, Paul (Jackie) Bryant, Harveena Turner and daughter-in-law Sharla Stavis, all of Dayton, OH. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other beloved family members all of whom will miss him greatly. Bill will always be remembered fondly as a hard worker with many skills. he was a true gentleman, always quick to smile and laugh and took great pleasure in sharing his faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses with all around him. He enjoyed life to it's fullest due, in large part, to all of the love, support and encouragement received over the years from his many brothers and sisters in faith. his death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Bill's family sincerely thanks both Kindred Nursing and Rehab of Lebanon and Alliance Hospice for the kind and gentle care and comfort they provided for Bill. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1530 N. James H. McGee in Dayton, Ohio 45402, (937) 263-2235.
