Obituary of Jean M. Schroder

SCHRODER, Jean M. (nee Lanzon) age 91, passed peacefully Tuesday August 2, 2016 at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio. Born November 30, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, Jean was the daughter of Romeo and Sally (Kurtycz) Lanzon and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Jean was a graduate of Chadsey High School and the University of Michigan. Jean was a retired elementary school teacher with Detroit City Schools and St. Michaels School District in Maryland. During World War II, Jean was also a "Rosie the Riveter". After her retirement, she and her husband Robert M. Schroder, enjoyed sailing and lived on their sailboat "The Topaz" that Robert designed and built. Jean also enjoyed traveling, cooking with blue crab and spending time with her family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert M. Schroder, Jean leaves behind her loving children Robert "Bob" (Margaret) Schroder of Brighton, Michigan, Kenneth (Jane) Schroder of Kalamazoo, Michigan, daughter Sue of Wayzata, Minnesota, Rick (Sheryl) Schroder of Lebanon, Ohio and Jeff (Louy) Schroder of Glendale, California; grandchildren Robert, John, Michael, Joshua, Michael and Maxwell; great grandchildren Sofia Joy and Millie Grace and many other family members and friends. Funeral arrangements are private at the request of the family.
