Obituary of Shirley Ann Spence

SPENCE, Shirley Ann (nee Honaker) age 78 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Otterbein Retirement Community surrounded by her loving family. Born January 1, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, Shirley was the daughter of James and Frieda (Clark) Honaker and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Many will remember Shirley from her years of service at the local Hogan's Diner in South Lebanon, Ohio. During her spare time, Shirley enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and spending time with her family. Preceded in death by her parents husband Willard Spence, brother David William Honaker and sister Susan Elaine Quinlan; Shirley leaves behind her loving children James (Monica) Spence of Lebanon, Ohio, Alan (Sheila) Spence of San Antonio, Texas, Theresa (Mark) Palfrey of Mason, Ohio, Belinda (Kevin) Weber of Greensboro, North Carolina and Michelle (John) Shanahan of Springboro, Ohio; sister Sandra (Kenneth) Griffith of Albany, Georgia, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, July 19, 2016 from 6pm until 8pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 11am with Pastor Doug Sibcy officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, south Lebanon, Ohio.
