McELFRESH, Dessie Pearl (nee Gabbard) age 61 of Middletown, Ohio passed unexpectedly Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her residence. Born September 29,1954 in Dayton, Ohio, Dessie was the daughter of Shelton Herschel Gabbard and Tressie Hale and was a loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her mother and step father George Hale, brothers Shelton and Sterling Gabbard and granddaughter Lacey May Atkinson; Dessie leaves behind her sons Mark and Chad Atkinson of Middletown, Ohio and Tracy Atkinson of Lebanon, Ohio; daughter-in-law Erica (Stacie) Atkinson of Middletown, Ohiohusband William Douglas "Doug" McElfres of Middletown, Ohio; sisters Veronica Surface of Mason, Ohio,Sonya Surface of Springdale, Ohio and Tonya Bevins of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren Alisha and Flisha Atkinson of Lebanon, Ohio, Joshua Gooney of Chicago, Illinois, Mackenzie Atkinson of Lebanon, Ohio, Dillion McElroy of Lebanon, Ohio, Chad Hines of South Lebanon, Ohio, Abigail Atkinson of Middletown, Ohio, step-granddaughter Josie Reeves of Waynesville, Ohio and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. and friends.
