Obituary of Sterling Singleton

SINGLETON, Sterling age 76 of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Sylvia's House at Marion County Hospice in Ocala, Florida. Born March 11, 1939 in Clay County, Kentucky, Sterling was the son John D. and Mandy (Gabbard) Singleton and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Sterling was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Bay of Pigs and a retiree with 34 years of service with the Borden Chemical Company where he worked as a lithographic operator. Preceded in death by his parents, son David Singleton, brother Raymond, sisters Etta Mae, Mildred and Thelma; Sterling leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years Billie (Wainscott) Singleton of Ocala, Florida; son Robert Haygood of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughters Kim Uzzel of West Chester, Ohio,Teri Freeman of Lebanon, Ohio and Sharon Singleton of Loveland, Ohio; brothers Mitchell Singleton of Morrow, Ohio and Lester Singleton of Lebanon, Ohio; sister Della Singleton of Lebanon, Ohio; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 11am until 1pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Isaacs officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
