Obituary of James D. Honaker

HONAKER, James D. age 84 of Waynesville, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday evening, January 16, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born July 7, 1931 in Parksville, Kentucky, James was the son of Marvin and Della Mae (Ball) Honaker and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. James was a proud US Army Veteran and a retiree from Edgecomb Metals where he worked as a machine operator. After retiring from Edgecomb, James delivered vehicles for Lebanon Ford. James had been a member of the Miamisburg First Church of the Nazarene, the Lebanon Eagles Lodge #1395 for many years and served as President, the Waynesville American Legion and the Lebanon Masonic Lodge. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Bernice Murray and grandson Ricky Adam Johnson, James leaves behind his loving wife Mae (Singleton) Honaker of Waynesville, Ohio; son Jim (Tammy) Honaker of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters Karen Johnson and Marsha Cox both of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren James P. Honaker, Trevor and Jeremy Gasaway, Ryan Cornett, Stephanie Gale, Danielle Cox and Jacob Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren;brother Darrell (Clara) Honaker of Indiana and many other family members and friends. Calling hours Wednesday evening January 20, 2016 from 5:00pm until 6:30pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30pm followed by funeral service 7:00pm with Pastor Bob Herdman officiating. Burial with military honors will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11am in the Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of Dayton.
