Chris will be sorely missed by all that knew him. I loved flying with Chris because he was a first class pilot, but more importantly a first class human being. Thank you Lord for sharing this amazing soul.

Please accept my utmost condolences. I am incredibly saddened by Chris's passing. I worked with Chris at Airborne Express, flew with him several times and enjoyed his company. He took his job seriously and it showed. He was one of the good guys.
Rest in piece Chris. You will be missed.

It is with deep regret to hear the news of Chris's illness and death. Please accept our sincere condolences to each of you. I was a fellow employee with Chris at Airborne/ABX Air; working with Chris in training and as a fellow Check Airman. Chris always displayed a level of professionalism and dedication to his work. You could also discern that he was a dedicated husband and father too in the way he spoke of his wife and children.
Please accept our sympathies in this untimely event and may God's presence through the Holy Spirit be upon all of you during the coming days and weeks.
Sincerely,
Ryan and Angie Emmert

Dear Sue, Shelby & Skyler: Your neighbors here in Country Creek are so shocked and saddened to hear of Chris's--your dad's-- passing. I know if we are having trouble realizing what has happened, how much more you all must be struggling with the suddenness of this unspeakable loss. Over the years, I've had many opportunities to chat with both Sue and Chris as they or I took our walks through the neighborhood. And, sometimes, we have also had the chance to converse at our homeowners association meetings which Chris often attended. He cared about our neighborhood and was always interested in finding ways that would improve and enrich our lives here. We all listened when he talked and respected his ideas.
The past couple of days, I've been reflecting on some of my conversations with Sue and Chris. The one subject we always covered, the constant in most of our chats, was that of our families, most especially our children. Shelby and Skyler, to say your dad was very proud of you would be woefully inadequate to describe his view of you. He couldn't say enough about your abilities, your accomplishments, and about who you are as individuals. And, Sue, when your dog was aging and ill, Chris felt for you; he told me more than once that you were having a difficult time and would need a lot of encouragement when she finally passed. Even when I was seriously ill a few years back, he was concerned and often inquired about how I was doing. He always ended that conversation with a positive, hopeful word for me.
I'll miss waving to him and chatting with him.
I pray that in the days ahead, you'll be comforted by the thought that those of us who knew your husband and father knew him as a good neighbor and friend, and a fine man. May God hold all of you close. "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deut. 33:27.
Keeping you in our prayers, your friends--
Pam, Larry & Zach

My deepest condolences to all. I worked with Chris in Flight Operations at Airborne Express/ABX Air until he retired. I really enjoyed working with Chris - and will miss seeing him in Walmart in Lebanon to chat or seeing his Facebook posts about the beautiful family you have. God bless you and keep you all in his loving embrace.
