Obituary of Wash Pennington

PENNINGTON, Dr. Wash age 75 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully November 27, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born May 20, 1940 in Wolfe Creek, Kentucky, Dr. Pennington was the son of Estil and Polly (Joseph) Pennington and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was the Founder and First Pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Lebanon, Ohio. During his spare time, Dr. Pennington enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and playing golf. Preceded in death by his parents, son Warren Gary Cook, brothers Pearl, Chris and Andy and sister Ruth; Dr. Pennington leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years Mary (Couch) Pennington of South Lebanon, Ohio; son Larry Wayne Cook of South Lebanon, Ohio; daughter Katherine Motzer of Tennessee; brothers Dillard of Lebanon, Ohio, Jeff and Bill Pennington of Hyden, Kentucky; sister Lucy (Jeff) Onorato of Florida; four grandchildren Natasha, Mary, Timmy and Hannah; great-grandchildren Tanner, James and Estelle and many other family members and friends. Calling hour Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 12pm until 1pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Matt McPhillips officiating. burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, south Lebanon, Ohio. The family requests memorial donations to be directed to Hospice of Miami Valley.
