Obituary of Melvin Gene Tucker

TUCKER, Melvin Gene age 84 of Saylor Park, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio. born May 8, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Melvin was the son of Robert and Sara (Zimmerman) Tucker and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Melvin was a 1949 graduate of Mason High School and had served his country proudly in the Army National Guard in Korea. Melvin worked for Ted's Tanks in Florida, Shumaker Dugan and at General Electric as a photographer. Melvin was a member of the Mason, Ohio Masonic Lodge #678. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, son Lloyd Gregory Tucker, brothers Robert, Willard and Dale and three sisters Mary Roma Tucker, Lila Hardy and Edythe Brandenburg; Melvin is survived by his sons Jeff, Rod and Mel Tucker; daughter Kim Stark; grandchildren Shane Tucker, Christian Barnes, Shannon Barnes, Becky, Keith and Natalie Stark, Marshall and Sarah Tucker, Carla Collins, and Joe Carr; nine great grandchildren and brother Walt (Ferrol) Tucker of Lebanon, Ohio. Friends may call on the family Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 11am until 1pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1pm with Pastor Steve Tufts officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery, Pleasant Plain, Ohio.
