Obituary of Ernie Lee Sword

Ernie Lee Sword of Lebanon, Ohio, age 63, died peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2015, at home with family after a year-long stoic battle with cancer. Ernie was a life-long Lebanon resident, born October 9, 1951 to Gladys (Sutherland) and Ora Sword. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judith Gillespie Sword, daughter, Emily (husband Jason) White and two beloved grandchildren, Claire and Owen White. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, and is also survived by his sisters, Norma Sue Miller and Margaret Middleton. Ernie was a musician, playing in various local bands from the age of 14. His love and knowledge of music was a lifelong passion. He was also an avid Harley Davidson and Mac enthusiast. Ernie and Judy owned and operated Swift Printing Service in Blue Ash from 1982 to 2004. He was a kind and well respected man with a great sense of humor who was greatly loved by family and many friends. A visitation will be held at Stine & Kilburn Funeral Home, Lebanon, Ohio on Thursday, May 28, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a tribute to his life at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Chaplain John Love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ernie's name to Hospice of Butler/Warren County, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420 - or a charity of choice.
