Obituary of Marie Taulbee
Marie Taulbee went peacefully to her heavenly home on April 6, 2015, surrounded by her family. Marie was born on April 29, 1931. She was the 4th of 5 children born to Clennie Ellington and Geneva Francis Faulkner in Lee County, Kentucky. Marie married Eugene Taulbee on December 18, 1948. Together they lived in Dayton, Mason, South Lebanon, and Clarksville, Ohio during their 64 year marriage.
Marie’s faith in the Lord sustained her through many serious illnesses during her life. Her love for her church and church family was unwavering. She and Eugene established many lifelong friendships through their faith. You could always depend on them to pray anytime they were called upon.
Marie was a homemaker and always lent a helping hand to any neighbor in need. She was surrogate “Grandmother” to every child who came through her door in later years. Marie was an excellent southern cook, many will remember meals at her home. You never left her home hungry.
Dogs, cats, birds, possums and raccoons who were lucky enough to find their way to her home were fed, watered and provided sanctuary. Her love of animals and their well-being will always be remembered.
Marie was an excellent gardener and grew flowers and vegetables, which she was always willing to share with others. You could always rely on a “snip” of a new flower she had if you wanted one.
Marie loved life and enjoyed every minute she was here. She never met a stranger and would light up any room she entered. Her wonderful sense of humor leaves many happy memories of her.
Marie lived with her daughter in East Helena, MT, for the last months of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed her family and was always good for a cookie, a little money for the pocket, or story for her great-grandchildren when they visited her.
Her survivors include daughter, Gloria (Glen) Davis of East Helena, MT; grandson/son Greg Nichols of Centerville, OH; grandson Mike (Pam) Davis of Helena, MT; grandson Curt (Brittany) Davis of Jefferson City, MT; great grandchildren, Twila, Joseph, Christian, Dominic, Shelby,Tanner and Gabriel Davis. Siblings, Allene Jackson, Vivian Murphy, Deward (Freda) Faulkner, and Freida Simpson all residing in Ohio.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, of 64 years; parents Clennie and Geneva Faulkner; granddaughter Melissa A. Davis; brothers-in-law, Ben Jackson, Steve Murphy and Bill Simpson; sister-in-law Bonnie Taulbee of Ohio.
Services will be Monday, April 13, 2015, with 12:00 pm. viewing at the Daystar First Church of God, 402 E. Center St., Blanchester, Ohio; service at 1:00 pm with burial at the Blanchester 100 F. Cemetery; reception at Daystar First Church of God immediately following burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marie’s name are suggested to Daystar First of God, 402 E. Center, Blanchester, OH 45107.
Marie will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She was a beacon of light to our family and others, always reminding us of how important it is to follow our Lord and have him in our hearts. Heaven’s gate opened wide for this sweet woman. Always love you Mom.
