Obituary of Betty Howard

HOWARD, Betty Jean (nee Turner) age 92 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday, October 1, 2011with her family by her side. Born to Steve and Minerva (Lamb) Turner October 20, 1918, she was the eldest of eleven children and widow of Jack Howard whom she was married to for 57 years. Betty was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was mother to three sons, grandmother of five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends and known for her great cooking skills and caregiving to family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Howard, infant son Johnny Wayne Howard and seven siblings, she is survived by three brothers Otis Turner of Tampa, Florida, Burt and Bill Turner both of Lebanon, Ohio, two sons Bruce (Julie) Howard of Nashville, Tennessee and Barry (Lisa Jane) Howard of Lebanon, Ohio, grandchildren Natalie, Adam, Brandon, Beau and Bethany Howard and great-grandchild Lila Howard. A special thanks to her son Barry Howard from family and friends. He provided for her care 24/7 for the last year of her life. No caregiver could have loved or given better care to a mother. Friends may call on the family Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will begin at the Lebanon Cemetery at 1:30pm with Reverend Roy Turner officiating. Burial next her husband Jack will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio.
