Obituary of Leon Silcox

Silcox, Leon age 81 of Clarksville, Ohio passed peacefully Friday, June 10, 2011 at Avalon of Maineville, Ohio with his family by his side. Born August 17, 1929 in White Oak, Tennessee, Leon was the son of Charles Floyd and Stella (Brock) Silcox and was a retired press operator with the Formica Company with 38 years of service. Leon was a proud U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and the Korea Conflict and a Thirty Second Degree Mason with the E.T. Carson Lodge in Cincinnati, Ohio. Leon was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Jesse Marie (Roberts) Silcox in 1995 and brother Leroy Silcox; Leon leaves behind his sons Jerry (Sarah) Silcox of Morrow, Ohio, Garry Silcox of Morrow, Ohio, Phillip Craig Silcox of Texas, Eugene (Cindy) Silcox of Lebanon, Ohio and David Silcox of Lebanon, Ohio, daughters Shellia (Silcox) Adams of Mason, Ohio and Lisa (Daryl) Sowders of Oregonia, Ohio; sisters Betty Hoosier and Bobby Leach both of Toledo, Ohio and Lois Ordean of Sidney, Ohio; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call on the family Monday evening, June 13, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30pm. A second visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the funeral home with funeral service held at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, Ohio.
