Obituary of Mary Wells

WELLS, Mary L. (nee Black) age 65 of Oregonia, Ohio passed tragically from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident Thursday evening, October 14, 2010. Born February 9, 1945 in Port Angeles, Washington, Mary was the daughter of Peter F. and Mary H. (Brown) Black and was employed by the Meijer Store in the Fields Ertel area. Mary was a loving and devored mother and grandmother and a dedicated child advocate. Mary operated the East Ridge Homework Club (an informal after-school program) working with all grade levels of students to help them along with their homework. She had a philosophy of zero percent teen pregnancy, zero percent drug use and 100 percent graduation. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary leaves behind her children - Greg (Sara) Wells of California, David Wells of Oregonia, Ohio, Debbie Wells of Centerville, Ohio and Sarah (Logan) Mayfield of Illinois; brother Peter Black of Idaho and sister Katherine Cymbala of Colorado, four grandchildren and many other family members, close friends and her many past and present students. Friends may call on the family Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 4:00pm until 5:30pm at Camp Joy in Clarksville, Ohio. Memorial services will be held at 5:30pm at Camp Joy, Clarksville.
