Obituary of James Shimer

SHIMER, James W. age 78 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Bethesda Arrowsprings in Lebanon, Ohio. Born July 27, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana; James was the son of George P. and Queen (Brubaker) Shimer and a retiree of General Electirc Company in Evendale with 35 years of service where he worked as a Technical Writer. Preceded in death by his parents; James leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years Leslie (Brill) Shimer of Lebanon, Ohio; sons James Gregory Shimer of Louisiana and Chris Shimer of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters Cassandra Gabbard of Lebanon, Ohio; Stephanie Cooley of Middletown, Ohio and Loralie Gibson of Franklin, Ohio; brothers Paul Shimer of Lebanon, Ohio and Don Shimer of Goshen, Ohio; sisters Correne McAffry of Cincinnati, Ohio and Shirley DeLong of Lima, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to STINE Kilburn Funeral Home, 801 Monroe Road, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
