Obituary of Oliver Blevins

BLEVINS, Oliver G. "Gerald" age 85 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Southview Medical Center in Centerville, Ohio with his family by his side. Born January 31, 1929 in Morrow, Ohio, Gerald was the son of Oliver and Lillie (Crisp) Blevins and was retired from the General Motors Corporation with 17 years of service. Many may remember Gerald from his years of driving for the Armitage Sand and Gravel Company in Morrow, Ohio. Gerald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed excavating, working on cars and heavy equipment and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Blevins, brothers Earl and William Blevins and sister Alma Malott; Gerald leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years Verneda (Haddix) Blevins of South Lebanon, Ohio; son Tom (Gloria) Blevins of Morrow, Ohio; daughter Kimberly (David) Bailey of Marietta, Georgia; brother Carl (Alice) Blevins of South Lebanon, Ohio; sisters Kay Owens of Centerville, Ohio and Brenda (Paul) Young of Florida; grandchildren Jason, Amanda, Jennifer, James and Phillip (Angel); great grandchildren Jack, Aidan, Kate, Emma, Abby, Phillip, Holden and McKenzie and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Monday evening, January 26, 2015 from 5:00pm until 7:30pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7:30pm with Pastor Randy Ballard officiating. Burial will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 12:00pm in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio. There will be no procession, meet at the cemetery at 12:00pm.
