Obituary of Roger Houck

HOUCK, Roger D. age 77 of Oregonia, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Cape May Retirement Village in Wilmington, Ohio with his family by his side. Born February 16, 1937 in Wyoming County, West Virginia, Roger was the son of Don and Edna (Cook) Houck and was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. Roger was a retired Superintendent of Schools from the St. Bernard and Elmwood Place City Schools and a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Doris Jean (Casto) Houck, brother Jeff Houck and sister Donna Mallot; Roger leaves behind his loving son Roger (Mary) Houck of Oregonia, Ohio; sisters Brenda (Butch) Lucento of Christianburg, Virginia, Christy (Lee) Farley of Pipestem, West Virginia, Beverly Wohner of Saulsville, West Virgina and Sherri Saunders of Fairdale, West Virginia and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, January 8, 2015 from 6pm until 8pm at the Olive Branch United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11am at the church with Pastor Steve Cann and Pastor Allen Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason, Ohio.
