Obituary of Margaret Sheets
SHEETS, Margaret C. (nee Hazelwood) age 93 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Drake Care Center in Cincinnati, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Born August 13, 1921 in Trenton, Ohio, Margaret was the daughter of Charles Emmons and Emma May (Burnell) Hazelwood and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Margaret graduated from high school in Carmel, Indiana and was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Ohio. Margaret was married to Harold Augustus Sheet in 1941 and later in 1944, together they founded the Fella Bella Shop in Lebanon, Ohio. Margaret was very active in her community having served as the President of the Retail Merchants Association, Board Member of the Harmon Civic Trust (secretary for 6 years), Lebanon Chamber of Commerce board member for 3 years; was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce with Harold A. Sheets in 1957, Woman of the Year 1979 by the Chamber of Commerce and Mother of the Year in 1982 by the Rainbow Girls. She served as Den Mother for the Cub and Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Rainbow Girls 10 years - Mother Advisor for 4 years and received the Grand Cross of Color in 1976, Order of the Lebanon Chapter of the Eastern Star 3431941 & Worthy Matron 1947, Deputy Grand Matron District 21 Ohio in 1949 and Treasurer of the Lebanon Chapter for 9 years from 1986 - 1995 and awarded the 65 year Gold Pin in 2008. Margaret was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church, a member of the Little Sisters Sunday School Class - President in 2006 and member of the Lebanon United Methodist Women. Margaret was also an original member of the Applefest Committee that later became Country Applefest, Inc. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Harold Augustus Sheets, Margaret leaves behind her loving children James Earl Sheets, Victor O'Dell Sheets and Lori O. Cook; grandchildren Sara M. Sheets, Alexander James Sheets, Shannon Bombadil Sheets, Adam Steven Cook and Amy Catherine Cook; great-grandchildren Robin Elise Sinclair, Henry Augustus Sheets Sinclair, Thomas James Sheets and Robert Augustus Sheets.
A brief visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 1:30pm until 2:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to the Warren County Historical Society.
