Obituary of Shelton Gabbard

GABBARD, Shelton Jr. age 61 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Tuesday afternoon October 21, 2014 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born August 2, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, Shelton was the son of Shelton Herschel Gabbard and Tressie (Jones) Hale. Shelton was a Lebanon High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy. Shelton enjoyed motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends. Preceded in death by his mother Tressie Jones Hale and brother Sterling Gabbard, Shelton leaves behind his loving son Shelton "Beau" Gabbard III of Lebanon, Ohio and daughter Tressie Pearl Gabbard of Middletown, Ohio; sisters Dessie Gabbard, Sonya Surface and Tonya Bevins all of Lebanon, Ohio and Veronia Surface of Mason, Ohio; father Shelton Herschel Gabbard of Morrow, Ohio; dad George Hale of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren Brittany and Brandon Wells, Bridgette Abrams and Carisa and Keenen Gabbard; three great-grandchildren Malaijha, Zaiiyden and Madalynn and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, October 24, 2014 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00pm with Pastor Steve Tufts officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery.
