Obituary of Seldon Burns

BURNS, Seldon age 90 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Tuesday morning, October 7, 2014 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties with his family by his side. Born April 11, 1924 in Mistletoe, Kentucky, Seldon was the son of Burchell and Attie (Sandlin) Burns and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Seldon was a retired tool maker from the General Motors Company, a proud U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Dodds Pentecostal Church. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Gladys (Combs) Burns in 2011, daughter Mary Rose Hines and grandson Tyler Bailey; Seldon leaves behind his loving son Donald (Judy) Burns of Lebanon, Ohio; daughter Brenda S. (Jerry) Short of Wilmington, Ohio; son-in-law Richie Hines of Centerville, Ohio; grandchildren Donnie Lee Burns, Dawn Michelle Barnett, Jeremy Lee Short and Jennifer Ann Bailey; twelve great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00pm with burial to follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
