Obituary of Anna Childers

CHILDERS, Anna Lee (nee Smyth) age 81 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Wednesday morning, January 11, 2012 at Lebanon Country Manor with her family by her side. Born March 7, 1930 in Little Sinking in Lee County, Kentucky, Anna was the daughter of Edward and Myrtle (Hall) Smyth. Anna was a graduate of Lees Jr. College in Jackson, Kentucky and taught school in Estill County, Kentucky for several years before coming to Ohio with her family in 1962. Anna was a member of the Mt. Paron Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Kentucky, the past President of the Lebanon DeMolay Mom's Club, enjoyed following the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Zollie Childers, dear son Keith Childers, daughter Letha Young; brothers Don, Edward, Benny and Gerald Smyth; Anna leaves behind her loving and caring son Bill (Amanda) Childers of Lebanon, Ohio; brother Gary Smyth of Kentucky, sisters Gladys Gross, Deliah Hall, Gertrude Edwards and Shirley Hall all of Kentucky; grandchildren Bill Childers, Jr. (Amy Tunison) and Christopher (Natalie) Childers; Zara Smith and Jessica Uttinger and many other family members and friends. Friends may call on the family Sunday evening, January 15, 2012 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 6:00pm with Reverend Don Herrington officiating. Burial will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio. The Childers family would like to thank the staff of Lebanon Country Manor and Acclaim Hospice for their loving care given to Anna during the many years she was in residence there.
