Obituary of Goldie Byrd

BYRD, Goldie age 76 of Morrow, Ohio passed peacefully Friday, June 27, 2014 at her residence. Born January 28, 1938 in Clay County, Kentucky, Goldie was the daughter of Roy and Gertie (Allen) Byrd and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Goldie was a retiree from Durkee French Foods in Sharonville with 32 years of service and a charter member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in South Lebanon, Ohio. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Byrd in 2000, son Darrell Byrd, daughter Virginia Metcalf, brother Jerry Byrd and sisters Lida Taulbee and Lillie Mae Parker; Goldie leaves behind her children Joe (Missy) Byrd of Goshen, Ohio, Greg (Sharon) Byrd of Morrow, Ohio, Brenda (Donnie) Davidson of Morrow, Ohio; brothers Carl (Shirley) Byrd of South Lebanon, Ohio and Elvis (Bonnie) Byrd of Erlanger, Kentucky; sister Jessie Jacobs of South Lebanon, Ohio and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in South Lebanon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the church at 2:00pm with Reverend Arthur McFarland and Brother Jason Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
