Obituary of Ernest Davis

DAVIS, Ernest age 80 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Tuesday evening, May 6, 2014 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, Ohio. Born October 21, 1933 in Lebanon, Ohio, Ernie was the son of Vance and Esther (Graham) Davis and a 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School. Many will remember Ernie from his years of employment with State Farm Insurance, Lucas Sumatoma and Warren County Meals on Wheels. Ernie was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Ohio born at a farm on Drake Road and a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. In his spare time, Ernie enjoyed model airplanes, Ohio State sports and was a civil war buff. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ervin, sister Virginia and sister-in-law Bertie Davis; Ernie leaves behind his loving wife Dolores Lee (Ellis) Davis of Lebanon, Ohio, son Steven J. (Pamela) Davis of Springboro, Ohio; daughter Tamara Kay Lou) Reid of Champaign, Illinois; brothers Dr. Edwin (Barbara) Davis of Lebanon, Ohio and Earl Davis of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren Ciarra and Steffani Davis and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, May 12, 2014 from 3:00pm until 4:30pm at the Lebanon Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at the church at 4:30pm with Dr. Peter Larson officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service at the church. The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Warren County Humane Society or Warren County Meals on Wheels Program.
