Obituary of Ira Hale

HALE, Ira E. age 89 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Otterbein Retirement Community. Born April 27, 1924 in Russell County, Virginia, Ira was the son of Gordon and Helen (Dickenson) Hale and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Ira was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a retired road construction worker from Dayton Asphalt and Ohio Operating Engineers. During his spare time, Ira enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Stella (Taylor) Hale in 2003, brothers Hubert and Neal Hale and grandson Donald Heinlein, Jr,; Ira leaves behind his loving children Linda (Robert) Bailey of Virginia, Earnie Hale of Alabama, Irene (Dave) Brant of Lebanon, Ohio and Rick (Kim) Hale of Wilmington, Ohio; brother George Hale of Lebanon, Ohio; sisters Madeline McCoy and Frances Rynes both of Virginia; grandchildren Dwayne Heinlein, Robin Havens, Andrew and Chris Bailey, Gretchen Waller, Tracy Laraque, Amanda Johnson, Brittany Sibcy, James and Teddy Knapp and Kaitlyn Hale and 21 great-grandchildren. Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Sibcy officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, Ohio.
