Obituary of Dorothy Michael

MICHAEL, Dorothy A. (nee Vest) age 60 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Bethesda Arrowsprings. Born April 23, 1953 in Middletown, Ohio, Dorothy was the daughter of Vernon and Beulah (McQuinn) Vest and was a graduate of Franklin High School and a member of the former Ridgeville Community Church. Devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, trusted sister and loyal friend her compassionate heart, giving nature and sense of humor made this small woman larger than life and a powerful influence in the lives of her family and countless friends. She was deeply spiritual, a devout follower of Jesus Christ, bold evangelist and a wellspring goodness and warmth. Preceded in death by her father and infant son Mark Daniel Hensley; Dorothy leaves behind her loving husband Robert Michael of Lebanon, Ohio, sons Joseph Michael of Washington, D.C. and Chad (Cara) Michael of Centerville, Ohio; daughters Chandra (Tom) McGowan of Arlington, Virginia and Stephanie Michael of Monroe, Ohio;loving mother Beulah Vest; brothers Vernon Darrell (Karen) Vest of Tennessee, Larry (Martha) Vest of Florida and David (Bridget) Vest of Franklin, Ohio; sisters Donna (Bob) Quillen of Springboro, Ohio, Sandy (Mike) Newkirk of Franklin, Ohio and Pam (Marty) Vest-Boratyn of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren Michael Robert McGowan and Emma Rae McGowan and special friend Alice Steed Quillen of Franklin, Ohio. The light she brought and warmth she gave continues on in all the lives she touched and will be missed. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening, March 13, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:00pm with burial to follow in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio.
