Obituary of Edith Sargent

SARGENT, Edith Louise (Schnelle) mother of Linda Schnelle Douglas (Jerry), grandmother of Denise Douglas Napier (Jeff) and David M. Douglas, great-grandmother of Megan and Erin Napier died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at age 83. She is also survived by sisters Eunice Butler, Shirley Hartcorn and Carolyn Sue Everhart and brothers Willard E. and David E. Sargent. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Ms. Sargent was the daughter of Marshall Dow and Edith (Pinkerton) Sargent. A native of Scioto County, Ohio, she graduated from Portsmouth High School and attended University of Cincinnati. She was an elder and served as clerk of the session of the Covenant-First Presbyterian Church. During her business career, she was a corporate secretary for the former Ohio Knife Company and the Discovery Press. She retired in 1995 from Peck, Shaffer and Williams, Attorneys. A private cremation service will be held with the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home, Lebanon, Ohio serving the family.
