Obituary of James Steiner

STEINER, James R. "Jim" age 79 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio with his family by his side. Born June 9, 1934 in Butler, Pennsylvania, Jim was the son of Andrew and Anna (Lynch) Steiner and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jim was a retired Electronic Technician Supervisor with the FAA, retired from Warren County TASC in December of 2013 and the owner of WS Electric Company. Jim was a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree, Shrine and Scottish Rite, the Lebanon Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge #395, VFW #6069, the Lebanon American Legion and the Mathers Mill Club and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Jim also served his community on Lebanon City Council and was Mayor of the city while being Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. Jim loved music and played a variety of instruments including the guitar and mandolin and played at the former Fat Bob's Restaurant until they closed. Jim's sons best remember the good times they spent hunting and fishing and when he coached their little league teams. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Ann Hamler, Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years Willovene (Duncan) Steiner of Lebanon, Ohio; sons Greg (Lisa) Steiner and Todd (Sandi) Steiner both of Waynesville, Ohio,; sister Reba Burkett of Austintown, Ohio and grandchildren Brad, Nick (Amy), Cody, Matt and Ben. Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30pm followed by Eagles Lodge services. A second visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2013 from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 12:00pm with Pastor Doug Sibcy officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery. The family has requested memorial donations be directed to the Impact Church, 645 Oak Street, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
