Obituary of William Parker

PARKER, William Reed "Bill" age 74 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully following a brief illness at Lebanon Country Manor (now known as Kindred Nursing and Rehab) with his family by his side. Born July 28, 1939 in Asheville, North Carolina, Bill was the son of Fred Carroll and Mary Evelyn (Pruett) Parker and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Bill was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Ohio and a proud U.S. Navy Veteran having served submarine duty on the U.S. Chopper. Bill was a member of the Lebanon Eagles Lodge #1395 and Masonic Lodge, he enjoyed good food, jokes, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends - especially his children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Fred Parker, Bill leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 26 years Margarete (Dick) Parker of Lebanon, Ohio; sons Stanley Scott "Sparky" Parker of Knoxville, Tennessee and Chris (Andrea) Brock of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters Kimberly (Jeff) Barney of Ft. Myers, Florida and Ashlea (Terry) Salyers of Dayton, Ohio; sister Susan James of Michigan; grandchildren Staci and Sheri Parker, Kelly Barney and Harper and Palmer Brock and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Lebanon Eagles Lodge #1395 Monday, November 4, 2013 at 5:00pm with a reception to follow. The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
