Obituary of Kent Ortberg

ORTBERG, Kent Earl age 48 of Morrow, Ohio passed unexpectedly Monday, September 2, 2013 at Bethesda North Hospital. Born November 19, 1964 in Rochester, Minnesota, Kent was the son of Bruce C. and Janet (La Soya) Ortberg and was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother. Kent was a 1983 graduate of Centerville High School, a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and a member of the Butlerville Masonic Lodge. Kent had formerly been a Sheriff's Deputy in Maryland and was currently a Captain of Corrections at the Lebanon Correctional Institution. Kent enjoyed building and collecting antique cars and spending time with his family. Kent is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Dona (Whiteford) Ortberg, children Alec Ortberg, Karynn (Tim) Newton and Paige Ortberg; parents Bruce and Janet Ortberg; brothers Byon Ortberg, Ben (Shannon) Ortberg and Damon Ortberg; sister Dawn Brubaker and many other family members and friends. Friends may call on the family Thursday evening, September 5, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Tufts officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Morrow Cemetery, Morrow, Ohio.
