Obituary of Roscoe Hamilton

HAMILTON, Roscoe age 72 of Wilmington, Ohio passed peacefully Monday, June 17, 2013 at Bethesda North Hospital with his family by his side. Born January 2, 1941 in Craynor, Kentucky, Roscoe was the son of Preston and Cora (Slone) Hamilton and a retired machine operator from Harrison Radiator in Kettering. Roscoe was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and a member of the Kitty Hawk Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and loved horse racing. Roscoe raised, trained and raced standard bred horses. He raced at the Lebanon and Scioto Raceways and loved his family and his farm and his two dogs. Preceded in death by his parents, son Virgel Dean Hamilton and Randall Lee Walls, grandson Virgel Dean Gilseth; brothers Junior and Virgel Hamilton and sisters Nancy Hall and Elsie White; Roscoe leaves behind his loving wife Dorothea (McGuire) Hamilton of Wilmington, Ohio; sons Robert Preston Hamilton of Dayton, Ohio and James (Randi) Plue of Sandusky, Ohio; daughters Ramona (Shan) Green of Texas and Terri (Mark) Logar of Lorain, Ohio; brother Paul Hamilton of Dayton, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will hold a Celebration of Life service Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00pm, please contact the family directly for details.
