Obituary of Mary Merz

MERZ, Mary E. (nee Shaffer) age 82 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Kindred Nursing & Rehab (formerly known as Lebanon Country Manor). Wife of twenty-nine years to her beloved husband William N. "Skip" Merz who preceded her in death February 13, 2008. Also preceded by brother Stanley E. Shaffer and sister Dorothy French; she is survived by sister Frances M. (George, deceased) Myers of Blanchester, Ohio, step-daughter Kimberly A. (Daniel) Theile of Cincinnati, Ohio and five step-grandchildren Jessi, Sarah, Katie, Phyllis and Sam; six great step-grandchildren Joshua, Kaden, Anna, Sebastian, Jamie and Zander. Mary was a faithful member and trustee of the Silvergrove Baptist Church in Oregonia, Ohio and like her husband, she enjoyed yard work, gardening and camping. Mary and Skip had camped in 37 states and parts of Canada. Friends may call on the family Monday evening, March 18, 2013 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7:00pm with Pastor Steve Tufts officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, Ohio.
