Obituary of Lillian McDonald

McDonald, Lillian Fern (nee Centers) age 79 was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky June 2, 1933. She passed peacefully at the home with her family by her side February 20, 2013. Fern loved spending time with her family. She loved working in her flowerbeds and watching her flowers bloom each spring. She was a great seamstress, quilter, artist, singer and a wonderful writer. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing games and music nights with her family. Fern was preceded in death by her husband John P. McDonald, her parents Kelly and Mabel Centers and brother David Center. She is survived by her 6 siblings Lavada Hill, Jim (Gloria) Centers, Paul (Thelma) Centers, Fred (Gail) Centers, Judy Centers and Darlene Carter. She is also survived by her four devoted children Emily (Gary) Browning, Gail Turner, Peggy (Dave) Allen and John (Cathy) McDonald. She had 8 wonderful grandchildren Juli (Brian) Bagley, Amy (Ken) Goodman-Brown, Chris (Beth) Browning, Carl (Keri) Kinsel, Rebekah Michael, Lindsay (Kevin) McGuire, Kristyn (Tyler) Allen-Saxton and Travis McDonald. She also cherished her 13 great-grandchildren Jarrett Poff and Celeste Bagley, Kate, Madison & Jake Goodman, David, Rachel and Jason Brown, Katharine and Johathan Browning, Emma and Olivia Kinsel and Josie Ziter. Friends may call on the family Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the First Church of God, 325 Pleasant Street, South Lebanon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the church at 1:00pm with Reverend Mike Cornett officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio. Fern always wanted to do something for the children in town so in lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to the South Lebanon Summer Library via any Lebanon Citizen's National Bank branch.
