Obituary of Darsie Eltzroth

ELTZROTH, Darsie (nee Hicks) age 96 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Friday, January 11, 2013 at Bethesda Arrowsprings. Born July 19, 1916 in Floyd County, Kentucky, Darsie was the daughter of Fair and Narsie (Ousley) Hicks and was a retired first grade teacher with the Columbus Ohio City Schools. Darsie was a graduate of Ashland College, Ohio, active at the Countryside YMCA Lebanon and a member of the Little Miami Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Preceded in death by her parents; husbands Jeremiah Saunders and Charles Eltzroth and son Vernon Saunders; Darsie leaves behind her sons Jerry Saunders, Jr. of Lancaster, Ohio and Danny Saunders of Oregon; daughter Doris Mayne of South Lebanon, Ohio; brothers Edward, Willard and Elmer Hicks, sisters Bethel Puckett, Bonnie Ryman, Mae Hicks and Wanda Bolling; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other family members. Friends may call on the family Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 10:00am until 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Montgomery, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the church at 11:00am with Bishop Trevor Stansbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
