Obituary of Bruce Elam

ELAM, Bruce age 78 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Otterbein Retirement Community. Born August 25, 1934 in Morgan County, Kentucky, Bruce was the son of John and Florence (Hager) Elam and was the only son of six children. Bruce lived in Warren County, Ohio since the age of 19 and was a wonderful father , grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Bruce Married Mary Willhoite March 29, 1956 and they were married 18 years and remained friends throughout their lives. Bruce was known as "Peanut" to his family and friends and was an accomplished mechanic who loved cars and big trucks. Bruce worked for Dave Steel in Lebanon, Ohio, Charles Hamilton Company and several Yellow Trucking Companies and was a member of the Dodds Pentecostal Church for many years. Preceded in death byhis parents, three sisters and a son Paul December 23, 1981, Bruce is survived by his sons Philip (Tammy) Elam of Onalaska, Texas, Patrick (Melissa) Elam of Maimisburg, Ohio and Prescott (Trish) Elam of Petal, Mississippi; former wife Mary Casey of Middletown, Ohio; sisters Opal Elam and Irene Stambaugh both of Ashland, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Friends may call on the family Friday, December 21, 2012 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00pm with burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
