Obituary of Mary Delores "Dee" Vance
VANCE, Mary Delores "Dee" age 81 of Lebanon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Lebanon Health Care (former Lebanon Country Manor). Dee was born August 12, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio. Dee worked as a cake decorated for Meijer for many years. She loved gardening, especially flowers. She also loved to cook, and her chocolate cake was always a favorite. Another favorite past-time was doing others hair and make-up, and she made sure she was always "dressed to the nines." Dee was the social butterfly of Lebanon Health Care, passing out candy to all the residents and staff, and was even elected to the resident council. Most of all though, Dee loved her family.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sherman Vance; and two brothers, Ted Henderson and Floyd Espey. Dee is survived by her daughters Vicki (Steve) Chapman, Deborah (Kevin) Sandstrom, and Mary (James) Dresser; brother George Espey; sisters Olive Barnes, Sarah Evans, JoAnn McCabe, and Claudia Apt; grandchildren Nick (Ashley) Chapman, Morgan Sandstrom, Kevin Sandstrom, Meredith Sandstrom, Amanda (Josh) King, and Jessica (Chris) Peters; great-grandchildren Mason Peters, Presley Peters, Mia King, Cadence Peters, and Carson Peters; as well as many other family members and friends.
There will be a memorial gathering Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2pm until 4pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home.
