Obituary of Brice Byrd

BYRD, Brice age 78 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side. Born January 29, 1934 in Clay County, Kentucky, Brice was the son of Albert and Sarah (Hacker) Byrd. Brice was a proud U.S. Army Veteran having served in Korea, he worked for the Penn Railroad for 12 years and then retired in 1995 from General Motors in Kettering with 30 years of service. Brice was a family man - a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed caring for his beagle dogs and running. Brice was a member of the Pentecostal Temple of South Lebanon. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Albert Byrd, Jr., sister Lorene Madison and granddaughter Amanda Byrd; Brice leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years - Ruby (Bowman) Byrd; sons Justin, Scott and Travis Byrd all of South Lebanon, Ohio; daughters Martina (Wallace) Slone of Monroe, Ohio and Muriel Byrd-Cooper of South Lebanon, Ohio; brothers Clarence (Gusteen) Byrd of Dayton, Ohio, Millard (Darlene) of Maineville, Ohio, Hobert Byrd of South Lebanon, Ohio and Marion "Duper" (Linda) Byrd of Lebanon, Ohio; sisters Rhoda Martin of Tennessee, Ollie (Clinton) Oldham of Clarksville, Ohio and Ida Smith of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren Heather and Kelsey Cooper, Slobhan Slone, Bridgette, Travis Tyler and Devin Byrd; special hunting buddy Billy McDaniel, special caring nurse Debbie Huelsman and many other family members and friends. Friends may call on the family Sunday evening, September 16, 2012 from 6:00pm until 9:pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11:00am at the Pentecostal Temple of South Lebanon, Ohio with Reverend JR. Sargent and Reverend Robert Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio. The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to Hospice of Cincinnati, Inc., C/O Bethesda Foundation, Inc., P.O.
